Demystifying Strategy

This canvas is designed to demystify strategy. Richard Rumelt says that “A good strategy is a coherent mix of policy and action designed to surmount a high-stakes challenge.”

To use this canvas you have to break your problem down into a Vision, you have to identify your “high-stakes challenge”, ie your Obstacles, and you then can design Strategy to overcome those obstacles. The Outcomes box allows you to define the changes in behavior you’ll see as you start to implement your strategy.

If you’re not seeing the changes in behavior you intended, that’s an indication that you need to adjust your strategy.
